After some preparation time and effort last week by the Municipal Court staff, a coordinated and scheduled Municipal Warrant Sweep was conducted on Sunday 05/19/2013. The sweep began early Sunday morning and included cooperative efforts between the City's Marshals, Pottawatomie County Sheriff Warrant Service Team, the Shawnee Police Department and Shawnee Sentinels.
During the sweep forty eight (48) municipal warrants were cleared and over $2,100 collected in outstanding warrants. Additionally 9 arrest were made, 3 on City Warrants, with the remainder on county felony warrants. Additionally the team assisted the SPD and Sheriff Department apprehend a suspect in a murder case clearing multiple City warrants in that process.
