Downtown Facade Grant Applications Now Available

The City of Shawnee in partnership with the Shawnee Industrial Authority and the Shawnee Economic Development Foundation is proud to announce the opening of the first grant cylce for the new Downtown Facade Grant program. Grant applications are due September 28. <br>

The Façade Grant is intended to encourage improvements to historically significant buildings within the designated Downtown Revitalization Area. The goal is to promote joint public/private investment, encourage business development and support appropriate revitalization to as many private properties as possible within Downtown. The grants provide up to $2,500 in matching funds to be used on the front facade of a building.<br>

Properties must fall within the designated revitalization area, which is generally described as:<br>
South of Highland Street<br>
North of Seventh Street<br>
East of Beard Street<br>
West of Philadephia Street<br>
