Not much has changed in the risk of severe weather from yesterday's forecast. The Moderate risk level remains the same.

Timing remains at 4-9 PM for the Western half of Pottawatomie County and 6-11 PM for the Eastern half of Pottawatomie County.
At 2:00 PM, National Weather Service RADAR shows storms beginning to fire West of Weatherford (Custer County), Northwest of Watonga (Blaine County) and near Pond Creek (Grant County). Southwestern Oklahoma continues to be monitored for potential storm development. This storm development agrees with the forecasted times that our area will be impacted.

A Tornado Watch will likely be issued in the next 1-2 hours.

In addition to the tornado threat, there is moderate risk of very large hail and damaging wind gusts with the stronger storms.

Eventual consolidation of single storms into a cluster or perhaps a squall line later this evening will increase the threat of damaging winds.
