The (Shawnee Fire Department) Clowns are loose again this year for Fire Prevention week. The educational program aimed at elementary students in the Shawnee Fire service area aims to educate through humor as the group has done for many years. The clowns, all Shawnee Firemen, make you laugh and learn about what to do if you're involved in a fire AND how to keep from being involved in a fire.
The group is scheduled to appear at different schools the whole week of October 8th-12th, which is Fire Prevention Week 2012. They start out spending time Monday at Liberty, Pleasant Grove and South Rock Creek, will be performing at Wilson on Tuesday and heading to Crossroads Head Start, Will Rogers, and Horace Mann on Weds. They then make the rounds to North Rock Creek, Jefferson, and Sequoyah on Thursday with the PUBLIC PERFORMANCE Thursday night at 6:30pm at the Expo Center. On Friday they round out the week by visiting Tecumseh, Macomb and Asher.
If you've never seen the show be sure and be at the Expo Center at 6:30pm and be prepared to laugh and learn from those keeping you safe on a daily basis.
