The current taste/odor event should pass shortly, the WTP is adjusting to the event. The taste/odor comes from the source water, and its very difficult to remove, but after treatment the finish water is safe to drink.
The most common complaint associated with surface water treatment is taste/odor. We are currently in the very early process of getting approval from ODEQ to rehabilitate the filters at the WTP (water treatment plant) changing the filter media from sand/anthracite to GAC (granular activated carbon) that will absorb the taste/odor during these events.
