The City of Shawnee in partnership with the Shawnee Industrial Authority (SIA) is proud to announce the opening of the third grant cycle for the Downtown Façade Grant program. Grant applications are due October 18, 2013.
The Façade Grant is intended to encourage positive, high-impact improvements to historically significant buildings within the designated area. The goal is to promote joint public/private investment, encourage business development and support appropriate revitalization to as many private properties as possible within Downtown. The grants provide up to $2,500 in matching funds to be used on the front façade of a building.
Based on prior success, the boundary for eligible properties has expanded, providing more properties the opportunity to benefit from the grant. To qualify, properties must be zoned C-4 and fall within the designated area, which is generally described as:

South of Highland Street
North of Seventh Street
East of Beard Street
West of Philadelphia Street
