The City of Shawnee Parks Department would like to invite all who wish to volunteer to come out to Woodland Veterans Park on April 20, 2013 at Noon for the State Wide event to clean up our State and City. The event will run from Noon to 4:00 pm with the City of Shawnee providing Safety Vest, Trash Bags, and a list of Locations to clean up if you need one. All are welcome from the young to the old, Church groups, Civic groups, Individuals, Businesses, or whatever group you may be a part of. Remember that registration begins at Noon at Woodland Veterans Park, supplies will be handed out, and as your group returns, pictures will be taken and amount of trash will be documented. With in the week following, Trophies will be handed out to the winners with the most unusual piece of trash found, the oldest participant, and the largest group to participate. So grab your friends, come out, and take pride in your community cleaning up the streets.
When the day is over and you feel that this is something that you could dedicate a few days a year to, materials will be available at the event for the City of Shawnee's Adopt A Street Program. Please feel free to ask about the program and what it does for you and the City.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the event.
